1 Sep 2022
The CityLoops website is a finalist for the .eu Web Awards under the “Better World” category. Among the 821 websites nominated, cityloops.eu is one of 18 finalists (three per each of the six categories) that received the most votes. The “Better World” category is for websites that represent green initiatives and environmentally-friendly organisations. The two other shortlisted websites are smartagrihubs.eu and verterasa.eu.
The .eu Web Awards, which are hosted by EURid, highlight and celebrate the most effective and impactful .eu websites. The finalists have been invited to attend the .eu Web Awards ceremony in Mechelen, Belgium on 17 November 2022, when the winners will be announced. The six winners of the 2022 Web Awards competition, selected by the .eu Web Awards Jury, will go home with a trophy, an education package for website management, as well the grand prize – a marketing campaign with a budget of €5000.
The CityLoops project brings together seven European cities – Apeldoorn, Bodø, Mikkeli, Porto, Seville, Høje-Taastrup and Roskilde - to pilot a series of demonstration actions to close the loop of two of the most important waste streams in Europe: Construction and Demolition Waste, and Bio-waste. Their ultimate aim is to become circular cities in which no resource goes to waste, driving the transition to the circular economy. The CityLoops website is the main hub to learn about the project and its goals, the CityLoops cities and their demonstration actions, the resources produced as part of this journey, and further information on circularity in cities.
