CityLoops Apeldoorn hosts meeting on sustainable infrastructure
6 Jun 2023
On 1 June, CityLoops Apeldoorn hosted and co-organised the meeting 'Towards sustainable infrastructure', focused on climate neutral and circular infrastructure for the provinces of Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland. The meeting was part of a roadshow organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management andplatform WOW.
The meeting 'Towards sustainable infra' is organised in all Dutch provinces and on June 1st, it was the turn of Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland. There were around 100 officials from provinces and municipalities present, all working in the field of infrastructure or sustainability.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Rijkswaterstaat and ProRail developed a number of roadmaps together with municipalities, provinces, water boards and the market, addressing the areas of work with the most impact in the field of infrastructure. The Sustainable GWW Manifesto supports the decentralised authorities in this sustainability task. During the meeting, the roadmaps for Road Pavement, Artworks, and Road, Dike and Rail Equipment (Clean and Emission-free Construction) were presented.
There was also room for an interactive part where visitors could take a seat at one of 13 tables where various inspiring examples, tools and solutions were presented. On behalf of CityLoops, Bram Entrop and Sonja Dijkman (Municipality of Apeldoorn) told about our experiences with the materials passport, the circular street renovation of Griffiersveld and materials depots. They did so together with Mart Mensink, founder of the matching tool for public space materials DuSpot, of which we are enthusiastic users and ambassadors. Sander Lubberhuizen and Adriaan Hellemans explained the in application possibilities for Biochar in asphalt, water treatment and keeping green planting beds and green spaces in the city.
This meeting was a great way opportunity for upscaling, sharing CityLoops projects in a wider region!
